MAYOR KAUNDA SADDENED BY PASSING OF RENOWNED NEWSCASTER BONGANI MAVUSO
EThekwini Mayor Councillor Mxolisi Kaunda is saddened by the untimely passing of SABC Radio Current Affairs newscaster Bongani Mavuso who died today, 27 September after a short illness.
UDonga LwaMavuso as he was affectionally known on the airwaves, was extremely talented in the broadcasting field as both a radio presenter and producer. A trailblazer in the creative sector, Mavuso was also an award-winning poet and writer.
He was admitted to hospital yesterday and succumbed to his illness this morning.
“I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, fans, and colleagues. He has left a void in the media and creative sector. The airwaves will never be the same as he brought professionalism and ethical journalism to the sector. We must find comfort in the fact that he left a legacy that we are proud of,” said Mayor Kaunda.
