Media are invited to attend a media workshop on the Municipal Debt Relief MFMA Circular
124 issued by National Treasury in April. It is anticipated that Municipal Debt Relief by
writing-off historic/ arrear Eskom municipal debt facilitates the restoration of financial best
practice and could free some revenue in qualifying municipalities owing Eskom, to maintain
their current bulk accounts, other creditors and provide a reliable basic level of services.
